About Me
When I was unexpectedly let go from my employer of the last 5 years, I had no idea what I was going to do. For the 3 years prior to me being laid off, I was full-time and fully remote. I knew quickly that I never wanted to go back to an office. I thrived and thoroughly enjoyed working from home, not just because of the freedom it allowed me with my time, but because I was genuinely comfortable in the environment. Had I not been laid off; I probably would have stayed in that position and with that company forever. In 2019, I began having the urge to build something that was mine. I never thought of myself as an entrepreneur, but I knew that - that was the only way I would be able to work from home and give myself not just the time freedom, but the financial freedom also. I went through many ideas, none stuck. But in 2021, I began seeing Virtual Assisting everywhere. It began coming across me daily on social media and I thought to myself, "I could do that.” I had the skills and experience to offer these types of services. I quickly learned I didn't want to just be an administrative assistant, I also wanted to be in the social media space. The creativity that goes into creating content was so appealing to me. Shortly after, I applied for a Social Media Management internship through an amazing non-profit and brand, “a Chica on a Mission.” Going through that internship solidified my desire to be in the social media space. I learned to create content and manage the social media account for their online store, “Self-Love ‘N’ Bloom.” The founder, Sabrina Pérez, appreciated my eagerness to learn and how quickly I picked up on things. Not just on social media, but also with managing the online store. She offered me a part-time position to stay on after the internship had concluded. I was laid off from my employer the same week the internship finished. That was my sign. It was time to go all in and bet on myself, my skills, and my goals. Now, in 2022, I have officially begun my Virtual Assisting business and I am beyond excited for this journey.
